Nothing says spring like a garden full of tulips and there’s no better place than Truro as the entire town celebrates those blooming bulbs. This is the 10th anniversary of the Truro Tulip Festival so the festivities have been kicked up a notch.

The festival runs May 18–21 and starts with an antique market, a craft market, a joy of “hooking” display, a community barbecue, live entertainment and fireworks on Friday night. On Saturday, there’s the Farmer’s Market, a Plant, Shrub and Tree Sale, a science fair, wildlife and chainsaw carving competitions, a model railroad display, timber sports demonstration, a mayor’s tea, highland dancers and two dances. On Sunday, a chalk drawing contest, plant sale, children’s parade, family fun fest, a cake walk, and a concert by the Barra MacNeils will be held.
At the same time, the Golden Age Auto Club’s Show & Shine will be in Truro so visitors will be able to see antique cars parked along Prince Street on Saturday and at the Bible Hill Exhibition Grounds on Sunday. Go to www.nstulips.com for all the information or call 902-895-9258.
